I absolutely love this map author Susan Furlong had created for her Georgia Peach mysteries. While I love seeing the story in my head, it’s always amazing to see what the author had in mind.
I think something most readers and writers might be interested to know is that most of these kinds of book details (maps, family trees, or other illustrations) are created by, or commissioned by, the author. In very few cases does the publisher undertake a project like this. So when you see something special and different in a book remember to thank the author.
