BookEnds Holiday Quiz

Seasons Greetings!  We thought it would be fun to prepare a little quiz so that you could get to know the BookEnds crew a little better, holiday-style.

Make your best guess at which agent matches the response!

1.  What's your favorite holiday song or carol?

"Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth" by Bing Crosby and David Bowie
"Dominick the Donkey" by Lou Monte
"Baby It's Cold Outside"
"12 Days of Christmas" by Straight No Chaser
"Silent Night"
2. What books are on your wishlist this year?

Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld
Dietland by Sarai Walker, Asking for It by Lilah Pace, and My Kitchen Year by Ruth Reichl
The Queen by Tiffany Reisz and Catacomb by Madeleine Roux
After You by Jojo Moyes and Julie Bauer's Paleo CookBook
I don't have much of a wishlist.  I think I'd like to be surprised with something new.
3.  What's your favorite food-related holiday tradition?

Christmas morning cranberry coffee cake
Rice Pudding with lingonberries on top. I serve it for dessert on Christmas Eve and eat it for every breakfast after until it’s gone.
Christmas morning German kuchen and coffee
New Year's Eve barbecue
Making fig and date cookies with my mom
4.  What's your favorite holiday-inspired book or movie?

Love Actually
Miracle on 34th Street
Tie between The Muppet Christmas Carol and Love Actually (And you cannot make me choose!)
How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss
It's a Wonderful Life
5.  What's the earliest holiday gift you can remember receiving?

The original Nintendo system when I was 5. (We had the power pad AND the gun. Be jealous.)
A play kitchen set from sometime in preschool. I spent hours with that thing.
A big brown stuffed bear that I got when I was 2 years old
A dog, my Cocker Spaniel Dagne, when I was 4.
My uncle gave me a kitten when I was four or five and we named him Nicky, after St. Nick
6.  Describe your most unique holiday decorating or ornament?

Roughly a dozen frog ornaments that are part of my husband’s frog collection
Ornament that’s a penguin sitting in a broken ornament that says “Santa, I can explain."
I’m not sure we have many that are unique, but I have an impressive Swedish (Scandinavian) Tompte collection. Some are just plain creepy, but I love every one.
We have a large stuffed bear with a santa hat that we call Swing Bear. He sits on a red swing and we hang him from tops of doors every year.
GEICO’s Maxwell the pig dressed in a Santa suit with pinwheels in each hand  (and we actually have the GEICO gecko wrapped up in Christmas lights too)
