Uncovering the Gems During a Snowstorm Dig-Out

Did you hear? We had a snowstorm.

BookEnds is closed today to continue digging out. Cars are still covered and roads are still not plowed. It’s the perfect day to continue our search for the next great book. I know I got a lot of that done over the weekend. I have one with my team now for second reads and a second that I’m waiting to hear back from the author on some questions I had.

I happen to be a big fan of snow and a bigger fan of snowstorms so for me, this was the perfect weekend.

I’m sure we’ll all be checking email during shoveling breaks, but if we’re slow please bear with us.

  1. We got our big storm the day after Christmas. We live in a very rural area of a very rural state. No plowing of our local roads (thank goodness for 4WD). It was not fun digging through 4 foot drifts to the barn (our official snowfall was only about 24″).

Fortunately the ranchers on our side of the state came through okay. The eastern side had 80mph winds that buried cows in 12 foot drifts. Thousands died. 🙁

    Stay safe and stay warm.

  2. I love snow storms, unfortunately by the time your storm gets to us all it will be is more rain, fingers crossed nobody floods this time.

I will be taking advantage as well. My first full round of edits, working with the entire MS started today. Being trapped in the house could well be a bonus.

    Stay safe over there.

  3. Wow, can only imagine what it’s like having snow storms. I don’t live too far from the snow and can see snow capped hills during winter. But I don’t think there’s anywhere in Australia where we get snow like that!

I can imagine how perfect the weather would be for snuggling up with a blanket, hot chocolate and a good read. Enjoy!
