As of today, I’ve been working alongside the BookEnds team for two years! I consider myself fortunate to be working with such a dedicated group of agents, led by the enthusiastic and savvy Jessica Faust, as we celebrate #BookEnds20 all year long.
So what brought me to BookEnds? What made me go from seeing BookEnds was open to resumes from agents with a few years experience to then actually reaching out?
Well, I’ve hinted at that answer already. Jessica is a huge part of why I’m here today. Seeing her amazing years of sales, her strong professional branding of her company online, her organizational skills and being consistently on top of things (it’s not only writers who can research response times based on what people are saying in forums!), her focus on growing her company in new ways, and staying relevant to a changing market, were all appealing to me.
Once I wrote up my cover letter, polished my resume, and sent it off, it didn’t take long to hear a reply. We set up a time to meet in person for an interview over coffee (in which both of us were so enraptured in our conversation we forgot to order any), and well, you can guess what happened after that.
I’ve had such a blast working with wonderful authors and their equally wonderful books since coming aboard. I’m excited for what is on the horizon, and cheers to BookEnds and the next chapter!
