An Opportunity to Meet Jessica Faust

I’m heading off to #Bouchercon16 and I’m super excited. For one, it’s in New Orleans, for two, it’s Bouchercon. While my schedule is pretty busy I’ve left some free time open to mingle in the bar and share a drink or two with fellow publishing professionals and writers (both published and unpublished). It’s really one of my favorite things about a conference. All I ask is that you not be one of those writers who stands and stares at me, too shy to approach, while I sit forlornly alone with a drink in front of me. Or, even worse, no drink in front of me!

In addition to the mixing, mingling and schmoozing, I’ve donated a gift basket to the Bouchercon Auction. This year the proceeds will go to Wounded Warrior Project and the Navy Seals Foundation. I don’t believe you can bid remotely, but you could always send someone else with your bid in hand.

My donation basket will include a selection of books from some of my Bouchercon attending clients, some BookEnds swag and, what I hope is the highlight, a 30-minute consult with yours truly. The consult will be in person for anyone also attending Crimebake. If not, we can set up some time to talk over the phone. Don’t be nervous. I find I’m pretty easy to talk to. We can discuss the state of publishing, your career, my career, my opinion on your next steps, or vacation plans. It’s really up to you.

I’m hoping for lots of bidders and wish you all good luck.

  1. Sounds like a brilliant opportunity, Jessica. Shame I’m half a world away. Good luck to those who are attending the auction.

  2. This is a fantastic chance I’d take in a blink, but unfortunately I live in Berlin, Germany… Do you think you will attend conferences to Germany anytime soon – as in this year or the next? They have all kinds of literary festivals. If not Germany, do you think you’ll attend somewhere in Europe? Maybe London? I’d come anywhere to meet you, but the States is a bit too far for the SOLE reason that I have a baby son, and he wouldn’t take the long flight well. But I could get him through two or three hours for sure. Hugs!
