Why BookEnds? Tracy and the BookEnds team approach was so warm and welcomed! They are a very organised company, which helped me to feel comfortable and at ease.

What book do you wish you had illustrated, and why?

Do I need to choose just one book?

At first, I would say “The Wonderful Wizard of OZ” by L. Frank Baum as I do feel particularly connected to the story since I was a child, even though “Matilda” by Roald Dahl would be an equal valid option.

Both books have strong young female character, which it’s easy to identify yourself with them.

If you’re not reading or drawing, what would we catch you doing?

Probably you would find me strolling around different museums and art galleries, getting inspired but amazing artists from the past and current times.

At the same time, in my own cozy house, while making myself a nice cup of Earl Grey while listening some good music.

Where can readers find you on the web and social media?

I am all over the place, even If tempt to share more behind the scenes and finished illustrations on my Instagram account!

What’s the last book you read?

“What We’ll Build” by Oliver Jeffers – such a sweet pictures book!

If money were no object, what would be your dream drawing location?

Somewhere surrounded by nature. Ideally in a wonderful detached house, with a spacious living room, with a stunning view of some countryside fields. Even better close by a lovey duck pond.

Day or Night illustrator?

I would say a bit of both. You can’t control when inspiration will come, so the best way to deal with it, it’s working during the afternoons!

If you could meet any artist, living or dead, who would you want to meet and why?

That would be 100 % Beatrix Potter. I grow up reading her wonderful stories and later on she became my source of inspiration for finding my own illustration style. I would have loved to be able to see her working on her books, sketching all that different creatures, while maybe sharing a cup of tea together!
