If you follow the BookEnds agents on social media, chances are you have a good sense of who we all are. But perhaps you’re not on social, or haven’t met one of our talented agents yet. To make the introduction process as smooth as possible, we’ve compiled this handy round-up of our team, and where to find them across the interweb. We hope to connect with you!
Connect with Jessica Faust:
Get to know Jessica
Jessica loves coffee in the morning, and wine, but not whine, at night. Her preferred reading spot is a big comfy chair in front of the fireplace or a wicker couch on the front porch. Her most recent #MSWL are books with a social commentary in either fiction or nonfiction.
Connect with Kim Lionetti:
Kim’s journey into publishing began in middle school when she raided her grandmother’s collection of Phyllis Whitney books and transformed into an incurable bibliophile. Her other addictions include honey cinnamon lattes, British period dramas, Ryan Gosling memes, “Schitt’s Creek,” Indian food and Frescaritas. Her most recent #MSWL are gothic suspense, magical realism, romantic women’s fiction and #ownvoices historical women’s fiction.
Connect with Jessica Alvarez
Jessica read her first romance at the age of nine when she pilfered from a friend’s mother’s Harlequin Presents collection and was instantly hooked. Though her pilfering has passed, her weakness for alpha heroes and exotic settings remains. Her most recent #MSWL includes more rom-coms like The Roommate, Last Tang Standing and Flatshare. She’d also love to find more historical romance, cookbooks, and nonfiction that both entertains and educates.
Connect with Moe Ferrara
A Pennsylvania native, she is mum of a rambunctious corgi who is a master at stealing treats and running agility courses. When not reading, Moe can most often be found in a pit orchestra, playing violin for her favorite musicals (careful, don’t ask her to pick her favorite show or you’ll get a 90 minute dissertation on Stephen Sondheim and/or general Broadway trivia). She is also an avid gamer and always awaiting the next Assassin’s Creed or Destiny release. Moe is currently closed to queries.
Connect with Tracy Marchini
Growing up, Tracy made it a personal goal to read every Nancy Drew Case Files in her school’s library and still has a soft spot for a good girl detective story. As an adult, she loves the sense of possibility in children’s and young adult literature – and can still empathize with the soul-crushing feeling that is mandatory gym class. Thought Tracy is currently closed to queries, when she re-opens, she’d love to see more author-illustrator projects in the picture book and graphic novel space.
Connect with Rachel Brooks
When not working, Rachel is likely hanging out with her husband and chatty rescue cat trying new recipes, watching K-dramas, or playing World of Warcraft. Rachel is currently closed to queries, but when she re-opens will be keen to find mythology-inspired stories from regions other than Europe, as well as delicious books with food-centric plots like Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune.
Connect with Amanda Jain
Amanda came by her love of reading honestly, inheriting it from parents who always had books close to hand. Amanda currently lives outside of Washington, DC with her husband and two kids. When she’s not reading, she likes to cook, root for the Cubs, and spend as much time outside as she can. Some of her top ticket #MSWL items include a gothic horror like The Haunting of Hill House and any novel in the vein of Tana French.
Connect with Naomi Davis
Authors have always been Naomi Davis’s superheroes. Now, they have a passion for helping authors develop stakes, voice immersion, and tension to a story’s highest possible potential, and often tweets about strategies for accomplishing those goals on her Twitter. Some of Naomi’s recent #MSWL includes a space opera that breaks their understanding of reality, and adult fantasy that brings them something dark and delicious.
Connect with James McGowan
James been a reader since picking up his first A Series of Unfortunate Events book, and ordering the sequels regularly through Scholastic book orders. Which is probably why he’s grown to love all things dark and all things humorous. Some of his recent #MSWL includes chilling novels in the vein of Simone St. James, and a suspense or mystery novel set in the 80’s and 90’s.
Connect with Emily Forney
Growing up, Emily would stay awake until sunrise to finish new YA releases and is currently going through that same phenomenon with middle grade fiction right now. She’s also a shameless lover of CW shows and teen period pieces. It’s unsurprising, then, that her #MSWL includes YA mythology retellings from non-western cultures, and a spooky (maybe even witchy!) middle grade with a lot of humor.
