BookEnds Chat and Giveaway Today!

  • By: Jessica Faust | Date: Feb 14 2017

Well, apparently it’s International Book Giving Day. Just like National Peanut Butter day, this is one we can get behind.

Today we’re going to give more than a few books away. I mean it’s appropriate that it’s also Valentine’s Day. If you love someone, give them a book. To our loyal readers, we’re giving away a special assortment of BookEnds titles and swag. List the title and author of the best book you’ve ever received or gifted in the comments below, and we will randomly pick a winner.

On top of that, we’re going to host a special BookEnds Twitter chat from 11-12am EST. We’d love it if you’d stop by, ask some questions, and share stories about your favorite books to give and receive. Use the hashtag #BookEndsChat so we see your comments.

Last but not least, we think International Book Giving Day goes along nicely with the campaign to adopt a classroom and supply the students with diverse books. We’ll be doing some of that as well.

Happy International Book Giving Day and Valentine’s Day to all!

Cruel Winter by Sheila Connolly
What the Dead Leave Behind by Rosemary Simpson
One and Only Texas Series by Melissa Cutler

The best book? I have to choose one?! Gah!

Received: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling – I love the series and JK Rowling’s story is inspiring

Gifted: The 13-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths – to my son as it was the book that started the shift from occasional reader to avid bookworm

I’ve been gifted so many wonderful books, but probably my favorite is the audiobook version of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”. It ignited my passion for audiobooks to add on to my passion for the written word!

There are so many that are my favorites, but only a few that are really at the top of my list of books I will never part with, instead I’ll buy friends and family copies any chance I can get.. it was a toss up between Jane Austen books, for obvious reasons, though my favorite is her complete novels. All between two covers, what more could a person ask for? But because Jane Austen is well, Jane Austen.. the other is one I’ve read so many times I’ve had to buy several copies due to wearing down of the book.. Shower of Stars by Nancy Herkness.

  17. Avatar Linda Herold says:

The Second Man by Emelle Gamble. I really like her writing!!

  18. Avatar Ana Calin says:

Oh, oh, I hope I didn’t see this too late. The Name of the Rose, Umberot Eco. 🙂

  19. Avatar Kelly Bowerman says:

Received: Take the key and lock her up by Ally Carter. I loved it and couldn’t put it down.

Gifted: Magnus Chase and the Sword of summer by Rick Riordan. My eldest is 14 and is ASD so reading up until the last few years has been painful. But now its clicked and he inhales books. I thought he was going to cry when I gave it to him recently

  20. Avatar Donamae says:

Gone with the wind Margaret Mitchell the ending haunted me for a long time. My sisters keeper I cried and never saw what was coming. Jody Picult, sorry wrong spelling. Thank you for the chance.
