Why BookEnds?

Proven track record of sales, agent vision, client happiness

If you’re not reading or writing, what would we catch you doing?

Huffing it at a boxing gym, buying too many houseplants, taking a long walk by the Hudson, or rewatching episodes of Gilmore Girls.

Where can readers find you on the web and social media?

Readers can find me at my website taylorpitts.com or on Twitter @TaylorJPitts.

What’s the last book you read?

Grimm’s Fairy Tales (The Listening Library version)

If money were no object, what would be your dream writing location?

At a secluded (ideally haunted) lighthouse station by the sea.

What’s your favorite quote about reading or writing?

“The best time for planning a book is while you’re doing the dishes.”

― Agatha Christie

What’s your favorite piece of writing advice you’ve received?

To think of writing as a collaborative effort rather than a solitary pursuit.

What excites you most about joining the BookEnds family?

Everyone at BookEnds has amazing energy and seems like so much fun. I’m looking forward to launching my career with a group of enthusiastic book lovers!

What advice would you give to other authors in the query trenches?

I’ve been where you are, and it gets better.

What was the most important question you asked when interviewing agents?

Asking to speak to current clients—or clients at the agency in general, if the agent was new—was incredibly helpful for me to get a sense of client happiness and any bumps they had experienced in their journeys. Plus, it connected me to other authors immediately!

How did you know your book was ready to submit?

I went through two extensive revisions with my mentor, ran the final version by a trusted batch of CPs, and then queried once the manuscript was the best I felt I could make it at the time.
