How I Pitched Wine and Punishment by Sarah Fox

  • By: Jessica Faust | Date: Dec 18 2018

USA Today bestselling author Sarah Fox has always been a joy to work with. She first came to me with her Music Lover’s Mystery series and later we came up with the idea for the Pancake House Mystery series, but when she presented her idea for the Literary Pub Mystery series I knew we had a winner (and a place I wanted to visit). Debuting in hardcover, I’m delighted to share the pitch that took us to an auction and eventually a deal with Kensington.

Sarah Fox is the USA Today bestselling author of the Pancake House mysteries and while she fully intends to continue that series, she’s also excited about this latest project, Tequila Mockingbird: A Literary Pub mystery.

Looking to escape her past, Sadie Coleman moves to Shady Creek, VT to renovate the old grist mill pub. Transforming it into a warm and welcoming literary pub, Sadie creates a place where tourists and locals alike gather to buy the latest release, join a book club, or simply share a pint with friends.

Life for Sadie has taken on a serene quality she never had in Boston, one that is instantly disrupted when her cheating ex-boyfriend returns, only to be found dead outside of her beloved pub. With suspicion falling on Sadie, it’s up to her to solve the mystery before she loses everything she’s worked so hard to build.

I’m really excited about Sarah’s literary pub. I think it has all the warmth and charm of her pancake mysteries with the ever-satisfying bookstore hook.

Happy release day Sarah. I’m raising both a book and a glass to your success.
