Monthly Spotlight:

SOMEBODY’S DAUGHTER by Rochelle Weinstein (4/17) Amazon | Barnes & Noble

From USA Today bestselling author Rochelle B. Weinstein comes an emotional novel for mothers, daughters, and anyone who has ever felt imperfect.

Emma and Bobby Ross enjoy a charmed life on the shores of Miami Beach. They are a model family with a successful business, an uncomplicated marriage, and two blessedly typical twin daughters, Zoe and Lily. They are established members of a tight-knit community.

Then, on the night of the girls’ fifteenth birthday party, they learn of Zoe’s heartbreaking mistake—a private and humiliating indiscretion that goes viral and thrusts her and her family into the center of a shocking public scandal.

As the family’s core is shattered by disgrace, judgment, and retribution, the fallout takes its toll. But for Emma, the shame runs deeper. Her daughter’s reckless behavior has stirred memories of her own secrets that could break a marriage, a family, and friendships forever.

“Touching and challenging, Somebody’s Daughter is a close-up look at a family that is magazine-cover-perfect on the outside but struggling with the fallout of one mistake that threatens to dismantle everything they’ve worked to build. With trust, love, and support hanging in the balance, they must each make a difficult choice. And the consequences will either break them apart or make them stronger than ever. An excellent storyteller, Rochelle Weinstein is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.” —Camille Di Maio, bestselling author of The Memory of Us

“Gripping and poignant, Somebody’s Daughter is that novel that you can’t stop reading, and then can’t stop thinking about afterwards. With vivid characters and an all too real storyline, the novel looks unflinchingly at the world of cyber sexual harassment and the devastating consequences that a few moments of stupidity can have for a teenager. The novel forces us to examine our own judgements, and to look to empathy as we navigate our children through this harsh new world. A must-read for any parent. I loved this book.” —Sally Hepworth, author of The Mother’s Promise

Once I got over the shock of miss reading ‘entering’ as ‘ending the second quarter’ my first thought was the new #bookends junior
I’ve always loved books I can share with my kids and as they get older the kind of sharing changes. My youngest sons are now 16 & 18 and we have shared many YA books. They still enjoy sitting and listening to me read, especially if it’s a magical or fantasy book.

I thought I was going to lose that as I have to a point with the older kids, my daughter reads but we don’t often share tastes any more and my oldest son has never had an interest (regardless of my blackmail techniques). But he has brought a new girl into our lives and with her a 3 year old boy. So now I have not only a new daughter and grandson, but I get to start sharing children’s books again, all the way back to picture books with my grandson. His mum, is now reading YA so she can read with my boys as well.
It wasn’t until I sat and thought about sharing new picture books and watching #bookendsjunior closely for new books and ideas that I realised how much reading brings people together.

That’s amazing Hollie, thank you for sharing that! We will be posting or junior round ups and news separately from “Adult” BookEnds books, and we hope to give you many more books to share with your family!
