An Author’s Vision Board

At the beginning of the month you went ahead and took a careful look at your goals. You did some updating, some revising and maybe even some deleting. All of that is good. Did you do the same with your vision board?
For those who are new to the blog, a vision board is collage of pictures, quotes, dreams and goals. It should make you happy and inspire you. Depending on your level of craftiness a vision board can be anything. It can be an old school collage made of old magazines, photographs and pictures printed off the Internet. It can be a bulletin board that you pin things to you as you see them. It can be a Pinterest account, a screen saver, a frame on your desk. It can be anything you want it to be. As long as it inspires.
I have multiple vision boards and when I see something that makes me smile or say “yes” I add it to my collection. My first “board” is on my desktop. There are pictures that inspire me as well as quotes. They switch out every minute or so and when I close my windows I can see the latest and I’m reminded of my goals. I also have a bulletin board behind my desk that I add inspirational sayings and photos to and as I’m writing this post I’m reminded that a few things need to be added to my board. Some recent quotes I’ve come across or sayings that have inspired me.

I also use visuals to keep me inspired and on track. I have a beautiful drawing on my pc, phone, blog and Twitter account of The Girl With The Red Scarf, my current manuscript. We all have days when we’re tired or feel like we’re running out of steam, but as soon as I look at my drawing it pushes me to continue. Such a simple but brilliant piece of advice
One of my favorite inspirational blurbs is from the children’s award-winning TV program “Arthur”: Believe in yourself; that’s the place to start!
I for one love quotes and my pinterest account (until I got to that part of your post I was wondering if it counts as a vision board). I even make psychologicial profiles of people based on the quotes that most inspire them (combined with their birth data and a set of life mottos). It’s incredible how much these things can say about us. I’m going to visit my board right now for a fix 🙂
I don’t have a vision board, but I do have 2 quotes stuck to my computer (and have had them their for 10+ years):
