BookEnds Enters the Picture Book Market

  • By: Jessica Faust | Date: Oct 24 2016

I suppose we technically entered this market the minute Tracy Marchini was hired, but now we’re officially in.

Congratulations to Tracy on her debut sale at BookEnds and for your role in BookEnds entrée into picture books.

Tracy finalized the deal with Charlie Ilgunas at Little Bee for SHARK-NATE-O by Tara Luebbe and Becky Cattie. Daniel Duncan, represented by The Bright Group, will illustrate.

SHARK-NATE-O is a charming book about a boy named Nate who loves sharks so much that he constantly pretends to be one. But while he’s fin-tastic at chomping, Nate has one big problem — he can’t swim. Feeling more like a minnow than a great white, Nate must face his fears to get his bite back and swim with the Sharks.

Since her start at BookEnds in June, Ms. Marchini has signed four clients that write picture books, middle grade and/or young adult, including New Voices Award Winner Rita Lorraine Hubbard. This is her first sale as an agent with BookEnds.
