The First Day of Bookmas

  • By: Jessica Faust | Date: Dec 01 2011

Welcome to day one of our Bookmas Giveaway contest. For those who missed the rules, hop back over to the November 30 post and give a quick read.

Now on to our contest . . .

At the end of last year I had the “brilliant” idea of tackling the Book List Challenge. At the time I thought I was smart by giving myself a lot of leeway. Probably not smart enough. I still didn’t read nearly as many of these in 2011 as I would have liked, but I did get to a few, and one of them became such a favorite that I read it twice and am a little sad it took me this long to read it at all.

Which book was it?

Haha, Gloria's got it I think. I just read a couple more clues. 🙂 Way to be fast!

Am I the only one who has a hard time figuring out where to look on Facebook? I don't use it, so I think that's why.

Sounds like fun, but really, Jessica who has the time to spend ferreting out this information. Fun for you, but I have too much stuff to do to prepare for the holidays. The only reason I'm blog hopping is because I'm waiting for a phone call before I walk out the door . . . and there it is!

  6. Avatar Danny K says:

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

  7. Wow, that was fast.

  8. Avatar Alison says:

    Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  9. Avatar BW says:

It's Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.

  10. Avatar Sonja Foust says:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my guess. 🙂

Magolla, you don't have to play. If last year is any indication, the answers are found literally in a matter of minutes.

I actually think this is one of the most fun contests I've run across on a blog and I was excited to hear they chose to do it again. If you aren't interested, why not just drop it from your blog hopping for the next few days?

  12. Avatar Bella says:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl is my guess too.

  13. Avatar Kim Villasenor says:

    James and the Giant Peach

  14. Dang and I thought i was fast with thirty mins. I had Charlie and the chocolate factory. Because I really didn't like the next book after that. It was rather weird. And I am glad they didn't make it a movie.

  15. Avatar Kim Villasenor says:

    James and the Giant Peach

  16. Avatar Erin says:

I agree Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  17. Avatar Kim Villasenor says:

I meant to say "James and the Giant Peach is my daughters favorite", otherwise I probably wouldn't have come up with it so quickly. This is fun, let's do another one!

  18. Avatar Shaunna says:

Pride and prejudice by Jane Austen

  19. Y'all are too fast. We're going to have to make the clues harder or you'll never get to the bottom of the page where I'm listed! 🙂

  20. Avatar Kaitlyne says:

I'll start from the bottom tomorrow. How's that? 😛

  21. Avatar Becca says:

I didn't get here fast enough, it's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  22. Avatar Avery Aames says:

Could we learn which clues helped you discover the answers you came up with? I love hearing about deductive reasoning!

Did you start at the top of the list and descend?

    Just wondering.

I found out 'cause I like Charlie and the Chocolate factory and one clue was about a girl that turns into a blueberry and it reminded me of the move:)
