Ramona Pina Loves to Multitask

  • By: Ramona Pina | Date: Jul 26 2022

We are so excited to be posting our interview with associate agent Ramona Pina today to continue our meet-the-agents summer — come check it out!

What is your agenting superpower?

My agent superpower is scatterbrain AKA multitasking. I can focus on many things at once and with detail… most days. And to think that I scream at my children that I’m not an octopus. Turns out I kinda am.

What do people often get wrong about you/what would they be surprised to know?

People would be surprised to know that I am a goof. If I wasn’t an overachiever, I probably would’ve been class clown. That’s typically why I spend most of my time appearing serious and keeping a “straight face.” I can’t let everyone know I’m inundated with ridiculous thoughts.

What are 5 songs on your playlist (that represent you, that you always recommend, that you listen to on repeat, etc.)?

I don’t listen to the same songs on repeat. It’s mood and seasonally dependent. My go to year round is Neo-soul, and Caribbean-style music in the summer.

What are 5 books on your reading list (that represent you, that you always recommend, that you would read over and over again, etc.) and why?
  1. R.U.R. by Karel Capek. Written in Czeck, he introduced “Robot” to the English language
  2. Beloved by Toni Morrison. It’s horror but truth about a mother sacrificing her children to prevent them from experiencing slavery.
  3. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Fiction on pre-Colonial Africa.
  4. Stories by the Bronte sisters (Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre). Addresses classism, feminist themes and role of religion in society.
  5. Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. Afro-futuristic dystopia eerily similar to modern day.

What does your reading list say about you? What does it say about your MSWL?

I think my reading list says I’m curious about the human condition. Even though my MSWL looks like escapism, it addresses deeper subjects that a reader can walk away with and apply to real life.
